"The meaning of life is to find your gift; the purpose of life is to share your gift!" Pablo Picasso. According to Picasso all children have creativity, they only need professional support to transform their natural gifts in artistic skills. Picasso began to take professional art education when he was 7 years old and attended some of Spain´s best art schools before developing his own style.
Scientific studies show that artistic activities have a positive influence on our brain and personality. The studies prove that children involved in visual arts or music have better results in school, and have improved fine motor coordination. They are more confident, more emotionally stable, and suffering less from psychological problems such as depression and ADHD. This stability continues through puberty into adulthood.
Masters Art Academy is a nonprofit educational organization which offers art classes, workshops and school programs. Our programs are flexible and suitable for every level, with the goal to offer the knowledge and practice necessary to develop high level skills. The same way a child cannot become a writer without learning to write, no child can develop real artistic skills without professional art education.
We are following the worldwide appreciated France Academy of Fine Arts classical style by using innovative teaching techniques in an environment where students find fun together with the challenges necessary to achieve excellence in fine art.
We believe that real art is the result of talent, emotions and education. According to Frederik Ross, the founder of the Art Renewal Center "fine art is a universal language, with a recognizable set of standards, including visual vocabulary and grammar, that communicates across all continents and cultures. If a work of art cannot communicate visually - without a verbal description - then it is not successful and therefore not intrinsically valuable". We think that every form of expression what pleases the eyes or ears can have at least a temporary value but if an art work needs verbal explanations, it is a hybrid between visual art and story telling, and therefore not real visual art.
Real visual art is the first and only form of universal communication. Without real visual art we wouldn´t know much about earlier civilizations and our society surly wouldn´t be where it is today! While greed and ignorance often try to replace traditions with modernism, we are dedicated to keep alive this beautiful language and teach our students the skills they need to express themselves visually on the highest level.
Between 2012 - 2019 over 250 artworks created by our students have been published in international magazines, and more than 90 students received distinctions at international contests. Based on our results, we have one of the most successful children art programs in North America - see News.
We are proud to have in our classes students from different cultures. Despite speaking a variety of languages, our students find a common language through art. By drawing and painting together, art becomes a bridge between the cultures.
