Our programs bring fine arts into school classroom and are designed to develop the ability to learn new skills, explore and express themselves visually, create and communicate. All of our workshops are activity based and give students the opportunity to participate and learn from a professional artist and art teacher.
Projects
Printmaking - begin with a visual presentation introducing students to the theme and objectives, providing motivation for the class. Students learn about different lines, patterns and textures that they will incorporate into their own dynamic prints.
Painting - students will participate in a guided art lesson to create an amazing artwork using a variety of different techniques and colors.
Silk painting - created for centuries in Asia, loved in the whole world. One of the most common techniques is called Serti technique or painting with melted wax on silk.
Program Fee: $13.00/student (min. $260.00/class). Program length: 1,5 hours. Max. group size: 30 students. Supplies included.

Grade 1
"Under the Sea". The workshop was developed based on the children’s book about Rainbow Fish. Children will discuss how to build friendships, and learn to share. Groups of 4, will paint with watercolor, oil pastels, experiment with salt absorbance and will create underwater creatures with recycling material.

"Spectacular Seasons". Make a trip across 4 seasons, discuss differences and paint symbolic life tree in 4 different medias as watercolor, soft pastel, markers and acrylic. Be a scientist and mix primary colors to get secondary colors on color veil.

Grade 2
"Arctic & Inuit". Venture to Canada’s far north to learn about Inuit life through folk tales, legends and artifacts. Learn how to build a tipi or work in traditional printmaking from Cape Dorset, Nunavut.

"Metamorphosis". Become a scientist of butterfly metamorphosis. To grow into an adult they go through 4 stages: egg, larva, pupa & adult. Each stage has a different goal - caterpillars need to eat a lot and adults need to reproduce. Workshop developed based on “Very hungry Caterpillar”.

Grade 3
"Tunisia". Welcome to Tunisia, the country of the blue sky and the home of more than 3000 years of civilization. Learn to read the stories from the doors and observe the oldest Roman vibrant mosaics in the world.

"Ukraine". Explore the vibrant culture of Ukraine with our Ukrainian expert. Learn about traditional daily life, special holidays and color meaning. Create your unique Easter egg using kistka and melted wax.

"India". Be a traveler and visit new places. Discover old Indian traditions of painting with wax. Learn special patterns, colors, symbols and images of the Indian life - silk painting

"Peru". Enter the world of ancient traditions, examine authentic artifacts, listen old legend, and learn to create an original Peruvian mask - soft metal embossing

Grade 4
"East Coast". Students will talk about daily life, go through the stories from the east cost of Canada, and discuss the purpose of the Light house. To paint an East Coast Landscape students will use different brushes and will experiment with different paint strokes.

"Wild Life". Teacher will choose the wild animal and on black paper 12"x16" students will create project in pastels. Students will learn proportions and color balance.

"Impressionism workshop" Learning art history
This workshop is a good way to introduce children great European Artists as Vincent Van Gogh"Starry night" or Claude Monet"Lily Pond" or Edvard Munch "Scream". Children will work on big size paper in acrylic or pastel and with full instruction will create 2 unique pieces of art. |
Ukrainian Study " Petrikivsky Painting" Workshop.
This workshop will introduce traditional Ukrainian painting, students will learn special techniques and will make a beautiful design in traditional Ukrainian art. |
Painting Canada - Tribute to Ted Harrison.
This is mixed media art workshop where students will learn primary and secondary colors and will create in bright and vibrant colors. |
"Canadian Moose" Acrylic Painting.
With its strength and independence, this powerful animal is a metaphor for our nation. A bull moose with a full spread of antlers is one of the most imposing beasts in Canada. |
"Tunisian Camel" Painting with coffee and tea on natural paper.
According to old traditions children will use coffee and tea as paint to apply on natural paper. Will frame ready work in hand made bamboo frame. |
"Remembrance Day" Acrylic Workshop.
(also known as Poppy Day) Red poppies symbolize the memory of those who died and white poppies campaigns for non-military interventions in conflict situations. |
